Basic French Crepes!

The link above is to a YouTube video of cooking the Crepes! Crepes are one of my favorite foods, plain or with toppings they are all around delicious! I did not add toppings today because I was eating this for breakfast! I could have added blueberries or whipped cream or honey, but I decided to keep it simple! This is not only a great breakfast meal, you can make it for dinner by using savory filling, like spinach, mushrooms , and cheese! And also a great dessert by putting in Nutella and strawberries! You can basically put any food in a crepe and it will taste good! But this is the hard part, well not very hard but it is the step that requires the most work! I personally think refrigerating the batter is necessary and creates a more tender crepe, however if you are in a rush I would say that it would be fine to skip this step. If you have a crepe maker this would be much better to use than a skillet, but a skillet always does the job! Also If you saw in the video I used  a crepe spreader or rake, this helps evenly spread the batter. If you don’t have one I would just recommend getting one because they are only a few dollars. I would also suggest to use butter instead of cooking spray because your crepe will taste more buttery! The recipe is below!

1 cup Flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar or for a sweeter crepe 1 tablespoon

2 Large eggs

2 cups milk

2 tablespoons butter, melted

Combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl, in a larger bowl beat together the eggs, milk, and melted butter. Add the dry ingredients and beat until just combined. Let sit in the fridge for 20-30 min. Heat a crepe maker and use another tablespoon of butter to grease the surface of it, fill a half a cup of crepe batter in it and poor directly onto the crepe maker, use a crepe rake to evenly spread the crepe al far as you can without ripping it. Let cook for 1 min and flip, let cook for another 30 seconds, take it off and enjoy!
